About Genesis Institute
Genesis Institute is a community.
We develop a unique, Biblical, relational connection with the people we serve. Genesis Institute is made up of loyal, compassionate people who work through fear and walk in faith toward Christ. We have the privilege of walking with the people we serve as they experience spiritual transformation. We value the struggle--not perfection--knowing that real change is long-term rather than immediate.
Genesis Institute started in 1994 with a small, passionate team of men and women. They were committed to a vision for an organization that would speak to deep, heart-level change--even deeper than behavioral change--that would reach people in transformative ways. The first years were a struggle, but a group of local individuals and churches supported our efforts.
Over the years, we have strategically focused more energy on our Biblical training services, helping leaders of churches, businesses, and families become agents of transformation.
In 2002, Genesis Institute partnered with Moody Bible Institute Spokane to bring instruction and counseling to Moody's students and faculty.
Genesis Institute has served 11,000 people over the last 2o+ years: about 7,000-8,000 in counseling, and 2,500-3,000 in our SoulCare training courses, workshops, and seminars. We endeavor to:
- Counsel Biblically
- Enable and encourage the Christian community to care for human souls
- Proclaim a relationship with Christ is the ultimate answer to life’s most challenging problems
- Invite both believers and non-believers to live according to God’s design, and to worship and enjoy Him

Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His sacrificial death as atonement for the sins of all who believe in Him, in His bodily resurrection and ascension into Heaven, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical, but spiritual death which is separation from God.
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ, and personally accept His substitutionary sacrifice as justification for their sin, become children of God.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, and the commitment we share to spread His Word and to minister to the needs of one another.
