SoulCare is the training and mentoring arm of Genesis Institute. Our training programs and services provide multiple avenues to encourage, equip, and empower people through biblical insights, proven content, and dynamic interpersonal learning experiences. Our SoulCare training and mentoring offerings are built from a Spiritual Formation focused foundation and framework. Spiritual Formation is defined as:
The journey of developing intimacy of relationship with God and transforming our character to become more like Christ for the good of others and our world.
At Genesis Institue, we focus on helping people on their journey of developing the life transformational relationship with God that we all seek. Our approach helps to satisfy the deep longings and spiritual hunger of our hearts. A Spiritual Formation focused approach is not just about sharing more information and it is not about encouraging people to just trying harder. Rather, our training and mentoring programs are focused on deep, heart-level work, where transformation occurs through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We deliver our training content in multiple formats, which allows our participants to choose the delivery format that best fits their situation. Topics can be delivered in a traditional classroom format, where participants meet once a week for a few hours over the course of multiple weeks. This type of delivery format allows for greater immersion into the course material.
To help meet the needs of people that cannot commit to a multi-week format, we also offer half-day seminars. Seminars are designed to highlight and explore key topics in a shorter, more condensed format. Lastly, Genesis can provide training content via online, tele-training webinars, and virtual classroom sessions, which usually last one hour. We are constantly evaluating current and potential educational topics and delivery formats to help meet the needs of our community. If you are interested in more information on doing a class in any of the above formats, please contact admin@genesisinstitute.org.
Topic Descriptions and Delivery Format
Core Concepts of Soul Restoration – Seminar Format
The Seminar cultivates some vital qualities of the Christian life which are typically overlooked when we obsess with all the stuff, we mistakenly believe we must ‘do’ for God and the church. These life-giving qualities include opening our hearts to the reality of our ‘belovedness’ in God’s eyes. Truly knowing our belovedness awakens several ‘desires’ which God has planted in our soul—the desire to trust His love for us, the desire to grow in relationship with Him, and the desire to be transformed—to become more of who God has designed us to be.
The seminar helps us move out of our cultural performance cycle of works and into the Holy Spirit’s restful cycle of grace—these transform how we work, worship, and walk through every aspect of life. We emphasize some key spiritual exercises/practices which help move us away from ‘pressure to perform’ and into the freedom of ‘desiring to become’ more like Christ.
God does the work of soul restoration in us, but He requires our cooperation and participation. The seminar moves us in that direction—cooperating and participating in what is needed for the work of transformation from the inside out.
Courageous Parenting – Class & Seminar Format
Courageous Parenting is a Bible-based approach helping parents better understand how to use relational influence to deeply impact the hearts of their kids. When parents impact their kids’ hearts through wisdom and wise ways of relating, our kids will be encouraged toward a better understanding of self. Parents are vital in helping kids understand who they are and what they have to offer this world. Our children will mature because of the relationships that are offered them, by their parents. Parenting is a journey that will deepen a parent’s sense of impact in the heart of their family life and will grow out of a trusting relationship with God
